About the event


White Horse is proud to host a unique evening of vegan wines paired with mouthwatering plant-based dishes in collaboration with Ben Straw of The Straw Collection. Whether you’re a seasoned wine lover or exploring vegan dining, this event will take you on a culinary journey like no other.


Ben will expertly guide you through each exceptional vegan wine, each with its own story and personality. To complement the drinks, our talented head chef Jack has carefully curated a menu showcasing innovative plant-based dishes bursting with flavour and creativity.


Featured Wines


  • Charles Back Method Cap Classique - A sparkling delight from South Africa to start the evening off with bubbles and zest.

  • Framingham Sauvignon Blanc - A crisp and fresh white wine from New Zealand to complement earthy and umami-rich dishes.

  • Causse de Theron Cahors - A robust red from France, perfect for pairing with savoury and indulgent plates.

  • Domaine des Forges Coteaux du Layon - A sweet dessert wine from the Loire to bring the evening to a sweet, elegant close.

  • Castaño Dulce Monastrell - A fortified red from Spain to perfectly round off the experience with depth and richness.


Dishes


  • Rice Cracker, pickled pear & white miso emulsion.

  • Glazed King Oyster Mushroom, puffed black rice, seaweed caviar, kombu dashi & shiso oil.

  • Pomme Anna Tart, burnt leek & cashew sauce, asparagus, wild garlic and a cashew nut praline.

  • Tonka Bean Set Cream, poached rhubarb, rhubarb & orange compote, rhubarb syrup and an orange tuile.

  • Cheese and white wine fondue, rye bread and poached apricot.
